The Busch R5 series single stage rotary vane pumps are used extensively in packaging, food and house vacuum applications. Unlike other single stage pumps like Leybold Sogevac, the R5 series is actually sold in (3) variants to meet specific pressure requirements:

Rotary vane technology is synonymous with a robust, functional construction. R 5 rotary vane vacuum pumps are characterized by an optimum design and perfectly synchronized components and materials. The constantly high vacuum level is ensured by effective and state-of-the-art precision manufacturing. The R 5 RC 0021 C features an oil return line for continuous operation.


A sophisticated oil separator ensures efficient use of oil. When fitted with a gas-ballast valve (optional), even large quantities of vapour can be extracted. A non-return valve in the inlet flange prevents the pumped medium from flowing back into the vacuum process after the vacuum pump is switched off. The R 5 RB/RC 0021 C is driven by a directly flange-mounted standard electric motor.

Replacement Pump ModuleYour pump will be like new when rebuilt with a new pump module. Includes new cylinder, shaft and rotor, vanes, seals, bearings, and end plates. No need to set to the correct tolerances, as the module is set for deep vacuum. Shaft and rotor assembly is also available.


Oil Float Valve BoxRetrofitting your pump with an oil float valve box will allow the pump to run continuously at deep vacuum, while managing oil flow from the upper sump back to the cylinder. Helps to prevent oil discharge/smoking and the pump runs cooler! If you need to replace only the oil return valves, we have them in stock.
