The MX8 Snub Pistol[2] was the standard sidearm for Coalition of Ordered Governments armed forces personnel. The Snub has been one of the primary weapons in the COG armed forces' armories, and has been the primary sidearm for the COG's armed forces' personnel for many years. Though it lacked range and power, the Snub's quick fire rate made it reliable in certain situations.

In Multiplayer, this weapon is extremely deadly when in experienced hands. The Snub is semi-automatic; it fires as fast as the wielder can pull the trigger. If one isn't confident enough in their pistol abilities, the player should use it only in critical fire-fights when ammunition for other weapons has been used up. However it is often useful to pull out the pistol after shooting the enemy once with the Longshot and downing an enemy with only a few shots.
It is also recommended, like with the Gnasher Shotgun, to fire off a single round anywhere to spend the bullet (it is unnecessary to fire more than one round) and perform a perfect reload with the Snub pistol to achieve more power per shot in any fire-fight. The Snub Pistol is also very good at quickly silencing downed enemies at longer ranges due to its moderate scope setting, accessed by holding the left trigger and then clicking down the right thumbstick, when the player does not have a Longshot at hand. In other cases, the Snub Pistol should be saved for one-on-one situations, where the integrated scope and its fast melee can give the user an advantage.
The most common technique with the Snub is the pistol-whip, an extremely deadly and effective attack. Here, the wielder fires two rapid shots into an enemy, quickly following up with a melee swipe. If done quickly enough, a player can down an enemy in a split second (the Snub can melee nearly immediately after firing, which is unique). It is also possible to melee first and then fire, but the general idea is the same. Like the Longshot, Hammerburst II (Except in Horde or Multiplayer), the Gnasher Shotgun and the Boltok Pistol, the Snub Pistol is capable of performing headshots (resulting in the head being completely blown off), but only in campaign and Horde in Gears of War 2. However, it can get headshots in any gametype in Gears of War and Gears of War 3.

The Boltok Pistol was the standard-issue sidearm of the Locust, specifically the Drones. The pistol continues the Locust weapon-design philosophy of creating weapons with an emphasis towards brute force.
The Snub Pistol is the default secondary weapon for all players in Versus. It is a standard semi-automatic pistol with decent power at close range. It is one of few weapons that has slight zoom capabilities for increased accuracy.
Taking away most of the reason to have a pistol in the first place, the Gorgon Pistol plays more like a pitiful shotgun than the pistol it claims to be. It fails even at close range, with a lack of both power and accuracy. The spread of shrapnel it fires is so wide that the player might as well be shooting in the dark from any kind of range.
Firing in bursts of eight is its only saving grace but nobody wants to bank on a close-range pistol. Even getting the enemy down is a task and a half, having to be nose to nose to ensure all 8 shots hit the target.
While the pistol selection covers a wide range of play styles, none of those styles make this gun even relatively good. Even at close range, where the gun is at its best, there are much better weapons for the task. It does have a very high rate of fire that makes the gun both an ammo drain and a nightmare to handle.
Trying to aim with the Talon is close to impossible, the rapid-fire throws off the aim and takes away any useable way of firing a pistol. The way to use it, in small bursts, takes away any real chance anyone has against a capable enemy and gives away the player's position.
The pistol is passable at best if it is the last resort, even then, it might just be better to use a little melee action. This is especially true in tight quarters, feeding five shots into the enemy and seeing them stride forward is a sight that no player wants to see.
this is the snub pistol from gears of war it has a mag that hold bleu rods it shoots around 20 to 30 feetit looks realy wel i thinkand also is here the new firing system from my chainsaw gundon't forget to rate and post a comment if you want to known something
With a small variety of weapons, Gears of War has eleven different weapons. As a COG soldier, you start off with a Lancer (assault rifle), shotgun, grenade, and a pistol. The humans developed the Hammer of Dawn, Lancer, Gnasher (shotgun), the Longshot rifle (sniper), Snub pistol, and the grenade. The Locust Horde created the Hammerburst, Torque Bow, and the Boomshot.
Snub PistolAn underrated weapon granted to players automatically in Multiplayer, the snub pistol is able to repeatedly fire shots in succession as quickly as the wielder can pull the trigger. If the player is able to hit an enemy seven to nine times in the head, they will be rewarded with a "headshot", instantly killing the opponent. With an active reload, only five to seven shots to the head are required. The pistol is extremely effective, although difficult to use, when firing from the hip. It is often used in combination with a melee.Special Execution:N/A
HammerburstThe Hammerburst is the Locust equivalent to the Lancer. It does not have a chainsaw equipped with it, but it is useful in melee combinations, where one melee and a pull of the trigger can down the enemy. It is useful at any range, and is more powerful than the Lancer. Three clips is usually enough to down an enemy however, with an active reload, the Hammerburst only requires two clips. The hammerburst is not to be confused with the gears of war 1 locust weapon of choice, the machine gun.although having a similar look they are not the same weapon.
MachineGunThe Machine gun is the locust weapon of choice in gears of war one. It has a 60 bullet clip and fires short 6 shot bursts. The weapon is easily and often confused to be the hammerburst which is the gun locust have replaced this old gun with, (just as C.O.G.s replaced their old lancer).
Boltok PistolThe Boltok pistol has a smaller clip than the Snub pistol, but it is also more powerful. However, it fires much slower than the Snub pistol. An active reload of the weapon will increase its damage. The pistol is overall more difficult to use than the Snub (due to its powerful recoil when fired), but can kill enemies much faster when fired at enemies' heads. In Gears of War 2, a Perfect Active Reload gives the gun more power and temporarily lifts it's curse of slow power, making the gun fire twice as fast.Special Execution:The gun is held by the barrel then the handle is whipped across the enemy's head. 2ff7e9595c
